Here is another story...
I have been a professional musician most of my working life, as a guitarist and bandleader backing many internationally well known artists, and have also studied classical piano. However it was to my surprise, when during the early days of my journey as a Christian, I felt moved by the Spirit to write a Christian song; usually led by a word from the Bible or an insight I felt I had had or on occasions by a direct word I heard, quietly but distinctly.
I discovered Fr. Woolley's wonderful book "I Am With You" I guess about a year after becoming a Christian. I remember at first being somewhat dubious that so many words were given to one person but I am glad to say that my heart was soon won over and I became totally convinced, and of course still am, that these were words from our Lord and that Fr. Woolley was being used, God bless him, to get them to as many people as possible. Quite soon I began the habit of reading a page a day after a short bible reading first thing in the morning (I have to discipline myself to do these things as I am basically quite unorganised). Reading this inspired work has been a great help to me over the years and I recommend it to everyone - it is a pure blessing. On many occasions a word or phase will spring out to me and often these have led in prayer to a song.
I have recently released a CD called 'Images of Love' and I believe that all the words on this Album have been inspired by the Holy Spirit. Next to the Bible, the book I read every day is the devotional classic 'I Am With You' by Fr. John Woolley. Lines have leapt from many pages to me from this wonderful book, some of which have lead to songs included on the CD and others I have made with Fr. Woolley's full agreement and encouragement.
